AN INTRODUCTION TO LARYNGEAL MASSAGE
FULL WEEKEND WORKSHOP
with
"THE VOC DOC" - Charles Ward

A rare opportunity to train with one of the UK's top 'vocal massage' experts!

Course Content

Pre-requisites

AN INTRODUCTION TO VOCAL MASSAGE

A two-day, hands-on workshop exploring the basic techniques of ‘Vocal Massage’ and how to apply them safely.

During this workshop you will learn and explore;

  • What the therapy includes, and its uses
  • Potential Red Flags and Referral Options
  • Safe and considerate palpation and application of basic manual therapy techniques for the:
                    Rib cage and abdomen
                    Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) and Jaw
                    Submandibular Region
                    Anterior and Posterior Neck Muscles
  • A brief insight into more advanced techniques that form the Advanced Workshop

Throughout the workshop you will be guided and observed by a qualified professional, but you must be comfortable physically working on others, and being worked on by other non-qualified persons in attendance. This is very much a hands-on exploratory workshop with the aim of giving you the skills and confidence in safe palpation of singers and voice users that can be applied in everyday situations.

To ensure quality, we restrict the groups to a maximum of 8 persons.
Each day starts at 9am sharp and finishes around 4pm with one hour for lunch.

This workshop is suitable for anyone with an interest in voice.
Charles requires all attendees to have a basic working knowledge of the relevant laryngeal anatomy, and of anatomical terms in general, before attending the workshop. To that end, we have created a simple, short course: “A Lay Person's Guide to the Anatomy of the Neck”, which will cover these requirements.

This automated course will be available on our Academy site from March 1st, and provided free to anyone who has confirmation of having booked a workshop place. You'll be notified when the course goes live, and given a coupon code to gain your free access to the course materials.

Proof of completion will be required before attending the workshop itself, but don't worry! We'll be notified automatically when you've completed the necessary elements.

During the workshop, you will need to be comfortable physically working on others, and being worked on by other non-qualified persons in attendance. Charles will, of course, be there supervising!
