Course Overview

If you are a singer or singing teacher age 18 or over, with a solid background in performance, and wanting to improve and add to your teaching skills and knowledge of a range of contemporary vocal pedagogies, then this course may be the one for you! As with all of our distance-learning courses, it is fully tutor-supported.

This very popular and in-depth course allows you to study the fascinating and complex subject of vocal registers in great depth, and to that end you'll be given access to one of The Voice College's "secret weapons" - our unique and comprehensive guide to vocal registers, which breaks the subject down in a way that makes sense to both singers and teachers alike, and is firmly rooted in the best and the latest research. No more wondering who to believe! No more confusion about 'the mix', where the breaks are, or whether head voice and falsetto are the same thing. We are absolutely passionate about the subject of registers and we feel that teachers at Diploma level and above simply must walk away from their studies with a good grasp of the subject. 

You will also work through range of techniques and concepts that are easily applied to the initial training process for all of your students, regardless of their age, experience or vocal style, plus the fascinating subject of how the body connects with the singing voice - vital information for anyone who teaches! 

Finally, you will be given ample opportunity to hone your teaching skills during the two teaching practise modules, which culminate with your teaching being assessed live online by one of our Senior Tutors.

Please note you are required to demonstrate competence in singing ability on application, by supplying website links (own website, Soundcloud, Reverbnation, Youtube, professional Facebook page, Dropbox folder or similar). We can also accept mp3 / mp4 files via email if no other option is available.

• Singers with some teaching experience
• Candidates must have Level 3 training at grade  A / B (or international equivalent)

• Module TP3/1: Teaching theory plus real-world practise

Assessment procedures

• Submission of written & practical work
• Extensive written feedback & ongoing support & guidance from your Personal Tutor.
• 1 x in-person (online) assessment of your teaching
• 3 x 30 minute in-person tutorials if required

• an optional one-to-one online tutorial.

• or 4 x bi-monthly instalments of £265
