We'll running a series of once-a-month one-day workshops from July - November 2016, in the beautiful Worcester countryside, but conveniently just a couple of minutes from the M5, Junction 6.
Each of the workshops will be self-contained, so you can book just one if you really want to, but if you'd rather take a pick-and-mix approach, there will be discounts for booking more than one.
Alternatively, you can choose to take them all, and gain a qualification at the end of it!
All workshops will run from 11am - 5pm. The dates are:
Weds July 20th
Weds August 17th
Weds Sept 21st
Weds Oct 19th
Weds Nov 23rd
We will be releasing details of the full content and presenters over the next few days - watch this space! For now, we can tell you that the subjects covered will be vocal registers, strategies for new teachers, running / starting up an adult contemporary choir, anatomy of the voice, and connecting voice work to the whole body, building your teaching career, and mindfulness for singers. It's all going to be very exciting!
You don't need to be an existing Voice College student or graduate in order to attend - the workshops are open to singers and singing teachers everywhere.
World Voice Day 2016
To mark World Voice Day 2016 we decided to start a voice drive for people to donate their voices to the remarkable project run by the organisation VocalID, which asks you to 'bank' your voice by recording it at home via simple interface from your laptop, tablet or mobile. Once they have all of your sample sentences recorded - which is something that you do at a time to suit you, in stages to suit you (most of us did ours over several weeks), they they turn your recordings into a useable voice for someone who has lost theirs to a disease such as ALS / MND. It's amazing! Please watch the video for more details, then share it, and sign up!
Residential course, Autumn 2016
We've got something special planned for the Autumn - our first dedicated residential weekend for amateur or hobby singers who want to learn in a fun, stress-free environment.
The plan is that the course will be run over a long weekend and will be in a luxury location where you'll spend the mornings working on your vocal skills with top teachers, and the afternoons enjoying the beautiful surroundings! (Location to be confirmed). Evenings will be a time to re-connect with the tutors, or socialise with your fellow singers.
We'll let you now when the details are in place. We're very much looking forward to this!
We've got big plans!
